For most of her life, Amber has been certain of three things: that she wants to get back with her ex, who dumped her. That she has no clue about housekeeping but needs to work for her money to afford college. That Scotland must be one of the quietest and friendliest places in the world allowing plenty of relaxation. Or so she thought.
When Amber moves to Scotland to earn some cash through a summer job, she tastes freedom for the first time, but what starts out as a harmless temporary position turns sinister when she is dragged into a dangerous world she never knew existed. Hidden from mortal eyes exist the creatures of darkness such as Shadows, Vampires, fallen angels, shape-shifters and others with powers. A world where the mystical bond given by fates draws her to the immortal Aidan, who can give her everything she ever wanted...but it can also destroy everything she holds dear.
What starts out as innocent fun, becomes a contract of its own kind when she enters the woods one night and gets involved in a paranormal race and wins the first prize. With every immortal creature hunting her because of the prize and with Aidan having some secrets of his own, whom can she trust with her life?
